NIT Update

There were three games in the NIT last night and none of them were close. Miami (FL) met up with Florida in a battle for the state of Florida end of season supremacy. Miami is a dangerous team if you let them get hot but Florida did not. The Gators won the game 74-60 advancing at the hands of the Hurricanes.

The second game on the ticket was between Tulsa and Auburn. Tulsa couldn't get anything started all game and allowed the Tigers to run away with this one. The final score was 74-55.

San Diego State took on Kansas State in the nightcap. The game was close at halftime but then the Aztecs of SDSU asserted their will on KSU. SDSU was nearly an NCAA tournament invitee and are playing as though they should have gotten a nod. 70-52 the final in this one.

For those of you, like myself, who have an interest in the NIT this year I bring to you the bracket as it sits now:

There is one NIT game to be played today between Baylor and Virginia Tech. Should be a good game between two solid teams. It has already tipped off and Baylor leads 7-3 with 5 minutes gone by in the first half.
